The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently visiting the Fernie two Local community Hall in Mpuluzi to render expert services for the community.

SASSA will likely be rendering expert services such as new social grant applications, change of payment method, customer care enquiries, along with the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In a press release, the agency said it is actually alarmed regarding the high number of people depending on social grants for survival.
“The aim of the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out into a significant variety of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This really status sassa is because of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there is no absolutely functional office devoted to service the area every day. The services point established for intervention ordeals a superior inflow of possible beneficiaries, that makes it tough for that office to attend to all people who pay a visit to a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise additional resources to allow the servicing of all buyers and maximize access to Social Assistance services,” the agency said.
